1. Spend

Be an active customer buying at least an item per hour.

2. Food

Eat during dine times, or at least make room for diners.

3. Space

Use a suitable-sized table/bar. Meeting? You’re all customers.

4. Calls

No loud call voices, headphones on. Cameras not facing other customers.

5. Tidy

Don’t ‘desktop’ the table by making a muddle of your stuff.

6. Power

Fine to plug into power if near you. No dangerous dangling cables.

7. Staff

If staff request relocation, please comply, no arguments.

Prioritise Dining

Eating during dine times, or at least making sure I’m not taking space for diners

Be Space Aware

Using appropriate sized table. Not occupying a four-top for one meal revenue. Notice if customers need the space during busy periods.

Call Quietly

Making no loud calls, video call cameras not facing other guests. Headphones on.

Keep Tidy

Not ‘desktoping’ the table. Be the remote worker everyone is relieved to see not depressed by.

Avoid Power Hazards

Plug in to power if it’s near my seat. No trailing cables dangerously and in a messy manner across space and people.

Put Staff First

If requested by staff member to relocate as you are ‘in the zone’ working and missed a space issue - no arguments - just respect.

Venues

Nomadex presents an encouraging set of rules, via the signage QR code link for customers who are in to work from your venue. Through the 7 rules, essentially saying "You’re welcome to work here - just make sure you eat, drink and act like a great customer — that’s the deal." Encouraging customers to work freely but stay fairly.
